Job Title: Systems & Data Analyst Intern – HQ

Reporting Manager: Head of Data and Fintech

Location: Lusaka, Kalundu / Onsite

Duration: 3 Months

Position Overview:
We are looking for a passionate Systems and Data Analyst intern. The successful candidate will turn data into information with an ability to conduct full lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities and design. The systems and data analyst intern will develop analysis and reporting capabilities. They will also monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements, implement and improve our IT systems, analyse system requirements and address any relevant problems. You will also perform standard testing and provide solutions to ensure high levels of performance and security.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting internal audits on transactions, inspecting financial status of customers comparing with partner platforms.
• Ensure quality data on different levels (Application, Customer, User).Consult on data improvements.
• Working closely with all relevant departments to help with reports, briefs, commentary, and visual data.
• Creating and editing visual content including maps, charts, and graphs.
• Transforming data sets, quantitative and qualitative analysis into meaningful information.
• Improve the data collection process.
• Support maintenance and creation of risk geographical mapping to assist in the analysis of the portfolio.
• Partner with Information systems to ensure accuracy of data collection and identify areas of improvement in data management.
• Creating visualizations of data in Power Bi and or Tableau, Excel.

• Analyze and assess the organization’s existing systems, processes, and technology infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into effective system solutions.
• Identify areas for process improvement and optimization, ensuring seamless integration of systems.
• Perform thorough testing and quality assurance to validate system functionality and data accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, providing timely support to end-users and stakeholders.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
• Develop data models, dashboards, and visualizations to present complex data in a clear and actionable manner.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and data needs.
• Validate and clean datasets to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Stay abreast of data analytics tools and technologies to optimize data analysis capabilities.

Requirements:

• Diploma / Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, IT / Related fields.
• Strong mathematical & numeracy skills.
• Good with Excel and Google Sheets.
• Intermediate understanding of databases such as SQL, POSTGRESQL and AWS.
• Understanding of reporting & data visualization tools such as PowerBI and Tableau.
• Understanding of excel VB and website scripts such as XML, Javascript, JSON.
• Understanding of ETL framework.
• Excellent analytical skills – the ability to identify trends, patterns, and insights from data.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Presentation skills – ability to write and speak clearly to easily communicate complex ideas in a way that is easy to understand.
• Problem solving skills.
