SolidarMed Zambia (Registration No. RNGO 101/0075/2013) is a Swiss non-profit organization dedicated to improving healthcare in Africa. Aligned with the Ministry of Health’s vision of equitable access to quality, cost-effective healthcare for all Zambians, SolidarMed focuses on strengthening healthcare services in rural areas.

Our country program in Zambia aims to enhance the availability of human resources for health in rural communities. A critical challenge facing rural health facilities is the severe shortage of healthcare workers, which significantly impacts health outcomes. To address this, SolidarMed implements innovative solutions to improve both the quality and quantity of healthcare professionals in rural areas. Key interventions include expanding access to nursing and midwifery education by providing student accommodation near training institutions, ensuring more healthcare workers are trained and retained in underserved areas.

SolidarMed Zambia hereby invites bids from qualified contractors for the construction of two student hostels to support healthcare training institutions.

PROJECT DETAILS:

Lot 1: Construction of a 108-bed student hostel in Livingstone

Location: Livingstone, Southern Province
Scope: Construction of a hostel facility to accommodate 108 students

Lot 2: Construction of a 48-bed student hostel in Mkushi

Location: Mkushi, Central Province
Scope: Construction of a hostel facility to accommodate 48 students

Interested contractors must meet the eligibility criteria and demonstrate experience in executing similar infrastructure projects.

 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Valid and up to date company registration certificates including: PACRA Compliance, ZRA Tax Clearance Certificate, Workman’s Compensation Certificate, NAPSA and EIZ
Litigation Status from a legal firm.
Company Profile and References from three reputable organizations or companies.
Evidence of completion of businesses related to the tender (Local Purchase Orders, Goods Received Notes, Contracts, Completion Certificates, etc.).
Valid National Council for Construction (NCC) Registration certificates of Category B and C, Grades 2-5 are required.
A credit line of a minimum of K1,000,000 and a minimum of three traceable references over the last three years for work with recognizable institutions (completion certificates) for building works worth a minimum value of K1,000,000 on each project. Credit line documents must be bank stamped.
An active bank account showing a flow of cash over the last twenty-four (24) months.

Copies of the last three years of audited financial statements prepared by a reputable firm in accordance with Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants.
