ACCOUNTS OFFICER – PAYABLES x 1 – PERMANENT

FINANCE DEPARTMENT (NAKAMBALA)

This position reports to the Procure to Pay Manager.

Key Performance Areas

Work with the Accounts Assistants on the same accounts on a day-to-day basis and coordinate their work.
Ensure that the Accounts Assistants perform the 6-point check before processing invoices.
Ensure the required daily average number of invoices is captured by the Accounts Assistants daily, to avoid delays in payment as per KPI’s.
Ensure that supplier terms are adhered to and that payments are made on time.
Review all outstanding items on the GRN suspense account daily and ensure that items older than 60 days are resolved.
Ensure that all outstanding queries are referred timeously to the Accounts Assistants / Departments and ensure these queries are escalated to the relevant Manager, should they not receive the adequate response timeously.
Ensure that all in progress invoices queries are followed up by the Accounts Assistants daily.
Perform the required average number of Creditor Reconciliations daily as per KPI’s.
Ensure reconciliations are accurate and completed by the due date as specified within the Ledger calendar.
Ensure critical payments are made on due date.
Address and resolve vendor and mill queries as required.
Promote and adhere to ABF Sugar’s procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).

Execute any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Minimum specifications / Requirements areas

Grade 12 qualification or country specific equivalent.
Degree in Accountancy or intermediate level in CA Zambia, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent.
Preferably three (3) years’ experience in creditor management.
Required computer literacy levels.
ZICA membership is mandatory.
Strong Excel skills.
Knowledge in taxation will be an added advantage.
