Refrigeration Technician (Re-Advertised)

Job description

Yalelo Ltd seeks to hire an experienced and qualified Refrigeration Technician to join the Engineering team at our production site in Siavonga. The Refrigeration Technician will work alognside other technicians and engineers with the department to maintain the cold chain equipment.
This position is based at our production site in Siavonga.

The Right Fit candidate will perform among others, the following functions:

1. Maintenance and Repair

Perform routine and preventive maintenance on refrigeration and cooling systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Diagnose and repair faults in refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems.
Replace or repair defective components using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

2. Installation and Commissioning

Install new refrigeration systems and components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
Conduct testing and commissioning of installed systems to ensure proper functionality.

3. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving

Identify and resolve issues in refrigeration systems that may affect production efficiency or product quality.
Analyze system performance data to identify trends and recommend improvements.

4. Safety and Compliance

Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Ensure all refrigeration work complies with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

5. Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance.
Report any major issues or recurring problems to the Engineering Manager.

6. Collaboration and Support

Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and production staff to ensure seamless operations.
Provide technical support and training to junior staff as needed.

Qualifications

Full Grade 12 certificate
Diploma or better in Refrigeration or other related field.

Work Experience

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Refrigeration Technician, preferably in a food
Experience working with cold chain equipment such as reefers, ice making machine and blast freezers
