Business Analyst

Job description

Our client in the Agri-Business sector is looking for a detail-oriented and strategic Business Analyst to join their team. In this role, the job holder will be responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and providing actionable insights to support decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The successful candidate will have dual reporting into the Finance Director and the Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducting market research, optimizing business processes, and providing analytical support to enhance overall business performance.
Gather and document business requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and other techniques.
Deploy data analytics tools to analyze current business processes and systems to visualize key business metrics across departments and identify opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness.
Develop and maintain detailed process maps, user stories, and functional specifications.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that address business needs.
Create reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators and measure success of implemented changes.
Conduct gap analyses and feasibility studies to ensure solutions align with organizational goals.
Facilitate meetings and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Assist in project management activities, including planning, tracking progress, and ensuring timely delivery of solutions.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in business analysis and project management.
Undertake board report consolidation and presentation across departments.
Drive strategy execution through periodic meeting adherence and follow-up

Requirements

 Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / CA / ACCA / CIMA / ZICA
Valid Member of ZICA
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role
Experience in a similar industry is an added advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with both qualitative and quantitative data.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency in business analysis tools and software, such as Microsoft Office, Visio, and project management tools.
Knowledge of business process modelling is preferred.
Experience in facilitating workshops and conducting interviews to gather data requirements.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Experience with Agile methodologies and project management frameworks is a plus.
