Job description:

Purpose

To establish and maintain contracts and commercial commitments register for the site including all goods, services, and consultancy agreements as well as confidentiality and executed NDA documents.

Key Responsibilities

 

This position will require one to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures, and legal regulations about health, safety, environment, and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.

Maintain files, templates, and registers as applicable
Tender, draft, and negotiate contracts to obtain a competitive advantage for the company (security of supply, total cost of ownership, technical support/innovation, working capital reduction, risk mitigation)
Work with FQM Legal, Procurement, and end-user depts. and other sites as applicable
Prepare annual contract plan for minor and major contract renewal/tender for goods and services for the site
Review claims, invoices, and price adjustments as applicable
Manage the supplier relationships where nominated/directed
Any other reasonable duties assigned by the Specialist, Senior – FPA

Qualifications

Grade 12 School Certificate
Degree in Supply Chain Management / Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Professional Graduate Diploma / CIPS Level 6 Graduate Diploma.
A postgraduate qualification will be advantageous.
Member of ZIPS

Experience

At least 4 years’ experience in the supply chain with exposure to procurement, contracts administration, and tendering (preferably in the mining industry or heavy industry (desirable) for both goods and services for mining and fixed plant requirements.
Previous experience/exposure to warehousing, inbound logistics, or related commercial disciplines.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Understanding of commercial terms and application to goods in mining/heavy industry site environment
Capability to perform spend and ‘should cost’ analysis mainly in MS Excel
Experience with ‘landed cost’ analysis and international procurement
Review and negotiation of commercial terms
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Proficiency in Pronto
Strong skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint
Understanding of warehousing and inventory management
Systems: Pronto / Cognos, Excel and Outlook
Procurement process, negotiation and communication
