FES Zambia Limited, the leading agricultural service provider seeks to recruit a Senior Diesel Technician.

This is a senior position within FES and has attractive remuneration and benefits. The successful person will be based in Mazabuka and will be reporting to the Workshop Manager.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering or related field
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in mechanical management role
Experience in the automotive/heavy plant/agricultural industry
Excellent Knowledge of automotive systems (automotive layout, function and location of parts)
Knowledge of mechanical issues, warranties, service and general repairs
Highly computer literate
Well-honed leadership and management skills, with an ability to motive others
Ability to use computer software to diagnose on-board machine errors

Job specification

Manage technicians to ensure we maintain an acceptable machine availability of our fleet
Ensure that the department is adequately staffed to achieve objectives, and that technicians are aware of procedures for using products and equipment
Ensure daily workflow/services/maintenance of equipment is well co-ordinated
Maintain good relationships with both internal and external customers
Ensure adequate maintenance of tools, equipment and other materials in the service workshop
Implement SHERQ standards in the workshop

Able to communicate at all levels
Ability to work effectively with people of different cultural backgrounds
Must have self-motivated and be results driven

Profile

Utilise computer software to create plans and detailed blueprints
Troubleshoot problems that may come up during the agricultural season
Set daily work programmes
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards
