Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain high standards of health and safety, including personal hygiene
Produce creative and excellent dishes that exceed guest expectations
Effectively communicate with other members of the kitchen team
Gracefully receive and implement constructive criticism
Remain calm and focused while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
Carry out multiple orders simultaneously within tight timeframes
Perform basic tasks of food preparation and organisation in the kitchen
Support other team members to ensure the successful operation of the kitchen
Assist in the preparation of mise en place for assigned station
Follow recipes and cooking techniques as directed by senior chefs
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas, equipment, and utensils
Assist in stock rotation and inventory management
Participate in menu development and dish presentation discussions
Adhere to food safety regulations and quality control standards
Contribute to a positive kitchen atmosphere by demonstrating a willingness to learn and grow
Assist in the training of junior kitchen staff when required
Participate in regular team meetings and briefings
Continuously improve culinary skills and knowledge of food trends and techniques
Qualifications
• High School certificate
• Previous experience in a Food & Beverage/Restaurant operations role
• Passion for teamwork
• Excellent guest service skills
• Knowledge of basic preparation, presentation and preservation of food
• Basic knowledge of hygiene and safety procedures
