Job Purpose;
Carry out fabrication works including modifications of mechanical components to maintain the Company’s system equipment and structures cost effectively.
Key Accountabilities;
On a daily basis, provide support to various maintenance sections requiring boiler-making activities.
Carry out boiler-making and welding activities which involve fabrication or construction of various metal structures e.g. fabrication of steel pipe works of various sizes and shapes, etc.
Ability to interpret mechanical fabrication, reviewing and assembly drawings.
Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping.
Fabricate new metal structures in accordance with given drawings and specifications.
Follow safe work practices and report all health risks and safety accidents, incidents and hazards.
Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job.
Perform any other tasks assigned by management from time to time.
Academic qualifications and Experience
Grade 12 school certificate/ GCE 5 ‘O’ level credits or better including
English, Mathematics and Sciences.
Minimum of Craft certificate in Welding / Boiler making, Metal Fabrication or equivalent from a well-recognized institution.
Must have not less than 4 years’ work experience in Engineering and Manufacturing industry.
Must be a full paid Member of Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
Professional Skills and Competencies
Proven experience as Boilermaker
Knowledge of the properties of metal and other materials.
Good knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings
Good at math with analytical abilities
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Must have good communication skills in the English language
Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items.

Job Purpose;
The Mobile Crane Operator will safely operate mobile cranes to transfer heavy objects from one location to another.We are looking for technically skilled candidates with excellent attention to detail for the position of Mobile Crane operator. Forklift operators are responsible for optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency, scheduling vehicles for maintenance and repairs, among other duties. Operating equipment cost effectively.
Mobile Crane Operator
Responsibilities
Safely and efficiently operate mobile cranes to lift, move, and position heavy objects, equipment, and materials according to project requirements.
Perform pre-operational inspections and maintenance checks on the crane, ensuring it is in optimal working condition before operation.
Set up the crane at job sites, ensuring stability and safety measures are in place, such as outriggers, cribbing, and proper rigging techniques.
Interpret and follow lifting plans and signals from signal persons or riggers to ensure accurate and safe crane movements.
Assess load weights and determine load capacities to ensure safe lifting operations, making necessary adjustments as required.
Communicate effectively with team members, including signal persons, riggers, and supervisors, to ensure coordinated and safe lifting operations.
Adhere to all relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies, maintaining a strong focus on safety at all times.
Monitor and maintain the proper function of crane controls, ensuring they are responsive and functioning correctly during operations.
Keep accurate records of crane usage, maintenance, and inspections, reporting any issues or concerns to supervisors.
Continuously update knowledge of industry best practices, new equipment, and safety protocols to improve job performance.
Mobile Crane Operator Required Skills
Proven experience as a mobile crane operator, demonstrating strong knowledge of crane operations and safety procedures.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception to accurately position loads and maneuver the crane.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to identify and address any equipment malfunctions or issues.
Ability to interpret and follow technical drawings, lifting plans, and signal communication to execute precise lifting operations.
Physical strength and stamina to operate controls and handle rigging equipment for extended periods.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with team members and follow instructions.
Attention to detail and a high level of precision to ensure safe lifting operations and avoid accidents.
Ability to work well under pressure and in fast-paced environments, maintaining a calm and focused demeanour.
Required Qualifications
Valid crane operator certification from a recognized training organization.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Strong understanding of relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
Physical fitness and ability to pass a pre-employment physical examination.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mobile crane operator, preferably in construction or industrial setting.
High school diploma or equivalent education level.
Additional certifications such as rigging or signaling may be preferred.

Key Accountabilities;
Daily, provide support to various maintenance sections requiring fabrication and field service activities.

Supervising and directing the workshop staff
Ensuring that the work is done in compliance with all relevant regulations, including safety, health, and environmental regulations
Organizing and managing production to ensure that schedules support project requirements
Managing materials, manpower, and equipment
Planning ahead and managing critical activities for materials, manpower, and equipment
Monitoring the site progress and ensuring that the project is completed on time.
Ensuring that the work meets quality requirements and is done according to approved drawings
Supporting the site team to ensure proper documentation for the work, including site meetings, safety records, and shop drawings
Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job.
