Workplaces: MCM -Nkana & Mufulira Mines

Responsibilities:

Examining work and safety instructions entered in the logbook by the previous shift and acknowledge by signing.
Liaising regularly with other departments, to arrange for availability and maintenance of machines and other technical work to assist in the efficient running of diamond drilling.
Visiting all working places and travelling ways within his section and ensure that drill sites have adequate lighting, acceptable housekeeping, care of machinery and other operations are being carried out.
Examining ventilation ways, travelling ways, First Aid boxes general tidiness of the section and makes relevant reports.
Issuing instructions to Drillers or PIC’s as regards the days’ activities and discusses important work related matters with Site Manager.
Processing transfers of personnel from machine to another and initiating complaints for serious breaches of discipline.
Attending all training programs organized by either Mining training or the operating sections themselves.
Ensuring all mining safety regulations are observed.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

Grade 12 Certificate.
Diploma or Degree in Mining Engineering and Degree in Geology.
Staff Learnership/Shift Boss RBS certificate of competency or Diploma in Mining Engineering.
Valid Blasting License.
Good communication skills.
Must have worked not less than 2 years’ experience in the mining industry preferably underground.
