Internal Auditor

Job description

Position Overview:
We are looking for an accomplished Internal Auditor with a minimum of 15 years of experience at the Manager or Head of Department (HOD) level.
The ideal candidate will be in good standing with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) and possess a strong background in the mining sector.

Key Responsibilities:
– Conduct comprehensive internal audits to assess the effectiveness of financial, operational, and compliance controls.
– Evaluate risk management processes and recommend improvements to mitigate risks.
– Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
-Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to senior management and the audit committee.
-Provide strategic recommendations to enhance internal controls, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement audit recommendations and monitor progress.
– Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in internal auditing.

Qualifications and Experience:
– Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in internal auditing, with at least 5 years at a Manager or HOD level.
– Industry Background: Proven experience in the mining industry is essential.
Education: A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
– Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.
