Data Analyst

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with SQL, Power Query, and Power BI and will play a critical role in creating insightful reports and dashboards. This position focuses on business analysis and report development to support data-driven decision-making for our business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Report Creation & Visualization: Develop, design, and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
Data Analysis: Analyse data to identify trends, patterns, and insights to support business strategies.
SQL & Data Queries: Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and transform data from various sources.
Power Query: Use Power Query to clean, transform, and prepare data for reporting and analysis.
Business Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business needs, and translate them into effective data solutions.
Data Validation: Ensure data accuracy and integrity by performing thorough testing and validation.
Documentation: Document data models, workflows, and reporting processes to support knowledge sharing and future development.
Collaboration: Work closely with the business teams to ensure seamless data integration and reporting

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write and debug queries – advantageous.
Experience with Power BI, including report creation, data visualization, and DAX calculations.
Familiarity with Power Query for data transformation and preparation.
Strong excel knowledge
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Solid understanding of business analysis concepts, particularly in the financial sector.
Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Prior experience working in the financial sector and Knowledge of data modelling concepts will be an added advantage

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Full grade 12 certificate or its equivalent
Degree in any relevant field
