Plant Operator

Job description

Our client is seeking to recruit an ETP Operator to operate the effluent treatment plant effectively.

Reporting To: Assistant Manager
Supervision Of: Self
Interacts With: Various stakeholders

Job Description
Regulate and control the flow of effluent through the plant by operating and adjusting treatment plant pumps, motors, blowers and other equipment to maintain appropriate plant operations
Mix and add treatment chemicals and ensure adequate chemical application according to regulations and guidelines.
Maintain, compile and update plant operations logs, gauge readings and reports during assigned shift
Collect and document liquid and solid samples and perform a variety of routine water quality laboratory tests; work closely with the laboratory on testing processes; monitor laboratory results.
Assist in periodic maintenance work, including disassembly and repair of pumps, valves, flow meters and other plant equipment
Perform general plant facility maintenance, oil, grease and clean equipment
Participate in the development of goals and procedures for wastewater treatment activities.
Maintain factory cleanliness & orderliness at all times
Perform related duties as required by the superiors

Candidate Specification
Experience: 3 years plus
Education Level: Diploma Level
Qualifications: Diploma in any discipline, preferably in Chemical Engineering.
Software: MS Office
Equipment: Job related
Knowledge Of: Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Skills To: Strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills
