Job description

JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the position is responsible for carrying out maintenance and repair works on ZCAS electrical systems and appliances in order to keep all electrical systems and appliances operational and available.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(i) Carries out diagnosis of reported electrical faults to determine nature and extent of defects prior to effecting repairs.
(ii) Raises requisitions for spares/materials required to repair identified faults, for the approval of the supervisor.
(iii) Maintains ZCAS electrical appliances and replaces bulbs, fuses, sockets, tubes, repairs geysers, electrical heaters, fans and water pumps.
(iv) Prepares reports on completed work, indicating materials used, for submission to the supervisor.
(v) Performs any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
(i) Grade 12 Certificate with a minimum of five (5) “O” levels including English and Mathematics.
(ii) Craft Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
(iii) At least two (2) years working experience, preferably in a learning institution.
(iv) Must be a fully paid-up Member of Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
