Cash Accountant

Job description

Yalelo is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and hard-working individual to work as a Cash Accountant. The Cash Accountant will be responsible for cash reconciliations from retail outlets and bank accounts.

The Right-Fit candidate will:

Cash control daily monitoring and reconciliation of retail outlets.
Circulation of all bank statements to respective users.
Liasing with the banks on all bank/treasury related matters.
Onboard all bank agents/signatories correctly
Review of Petty Cash Expenses and posting in respective accounting ledgers.
Preparation of petty cash reconciliation summary reports.
Preparation of Cash account reconciliation reports this is done as part of daily close then final report is filed monthly.
Co-ordinating Monthend close with the Accountant – Reporting and Tax.
Petty Cash disbursement, reconciliation and reporting (Applicable to Commercial and Admin).
Monitor daily cash balances and determine cash requirements needed to cover losses and payments.
Verify that invoices have been paid.
Verify accounts receivable paperwork to balance accounts and ensure that all figures match payment information.
Ensure all payments loaded and instructions sent to the bank have been fully processed /paid.
Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
Audit retail outlets to ensure cash and stock position balances.

The Essentials: 

Understanding of customer invoices, cash management, account management, microsoft office, Customer account reconciliations and reporting.
Sound knowledge of Accounting Principles, Sage Evolution and Data Entry.
In-depth knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures and General Accounting Procedures
Good understanding of statutory compliance issues and the Business Environment
Minimum of 2 years of related experience
Financial Accounting Experience is an added advantage
Tertiary Accounting qualification- Level 2 ZICA or ACCA, Degree in Finance/Accounting – verified by ZAQA
Grade twelve (12) Certificate – verified by ZAQA
Must be a fully paid ZICA member
