Job Purpose: Responsible for maintenance of financial information and submitting financial returns to the appropriate regulators and other external interested parties in order to ensure that the MFZ meets its statutory obligations within stipulated time frames.

Key Outputs & Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable Management
Ensure accounts payables accounts are reconciled to identify discrepancies and resolve any inconsistencies promptly.
Reporting
Prepares regular financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in compliance with regulatory standards.
Reconciliation and Verification
Ensure bank statements, supplier statements, loan portfolios, and general ledger accounts are reconciled to identify discrepancies and resolve any inconsistencies promptly.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Assist in the development of annual budgets by providing accurate financial data and insights.
Monitor budget performance, analyse variances, and contribute to the preparation of financial forecasts.
Records Management
Record daily financial transactions, including loan disbursements, repayments, interest accruals, and operational expenses.
Financial Analysis
Analyse financial data to identify trends, patterns, and potential areas for improvement or risk mitigation.
System and Process Enhancement
Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance data accuracy, and improve efficiency.
Collaboration and Communication
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including lending, operations, and compliance, to ensure accurate financial data and efficient processes.
Audit and Regulatory Support
Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation, explanations, and support to facilitate the audit process.

Qualifications & Experience

Grade 12 School Certificate
Minimum of 2 years experience in accounting & finance-related environment
Degree in Accounting, Finance, AACA equivalent or relevant field (certified by ZAQA)
Must be a member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA)
Experience in the financial sector will be an added advantage
