Job description
The Local Geologist will conduct field surveys, collect and analyse samples and help assess the geological conditions at mining or exploration sites to support resource extraction and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Surveys: Conduct geological surveys to map the area and identify rock formations and mineral deposits.
Sample Collection and Testing: Collect soil, rock, and water samples for analysis. Identify mineral content in samples.
Data Analysis: Analyse geological data and create reports for the team.
Team Support: Work with other teams to ensure smooth operations and assist in decision-making.
Safety Monitoring: Monitor the environment for any geological risks and report hazards.
Skills and Qualifications:
Degree in Geology or related field.
Experience in geological fieldwork or mining is preferred.
Knowledge of geological surveys, sampling and data analysis.
