The cover letter templates are gold. I just tweaked a few things and it was good to go.

Job description
1. Introduction
BBC Media Action is the BBC’s international development charity. BBC Media Action uses media and communications to reduce poverty and promote human rights in developing countries. Our aim is to inform, connect, and empower people around the world. We work in partnerships to provide access to useful, timely, reliable information. We help people make sense of events, engage in dialogue, and take action to improve their lives. Audiences are at the heart of all we do. Our audiences include the journalists and others we train, as well as listeners and viewers. Our work is built on insights from our research and engagement with communities.
The Research & Learning team generates a range of research and evidence products to inform programme learning, decision-making and communication with internal and external audiences. There is therefore a need for strong visual communication to ensure that research findings and insights are presented in formats that are clear, engaging and accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences.
1. Request
BBC Media Action is seeking a qualified Graphic Designer who can support the Research & Learning team in transforming our research reports and findings into visually engaging, accessible and easy-to-digest products. The successful consultant will be expected to translate technical research content into clear and compelling visual formats that effectively communicate key messages and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
2. Scope of Work
The Graphic Designer Consultant will work closely with the Research & Learning team to transform research findings and evidence into clear, engaging and visually compelling communication products.
The consultant will be responsible for:
· Translating technical research content and findings into clear, accessible and visually engaging formats.
· Developing appropriate layouts and visual concepts for research reports, briefs, summaries and other research products.
· Designing infographics and data visualisations that communicate key findings clearly and accurately.
· Using illustrations, icons, charts and other visual elements where appropriate to improve understanding and engagement.
· Identifying key messages and developing visual pointers that make research products easy to navigate and understand.
· Working with the Research & Learning team to refine designs based on feedback and ensure that the final products accurately represent the research findings.
· Producing final designs in formats suitable for both digital and print use, including providing editable/source files where required.
· Supporting the development of other visual communication products based on research findings, as required by the Research and Learning team
1. Skills and Experience required
The consultant should have:
· Proven experience in graphic design, particularly in developing visually engaging reports, briefs, booklets, brochures, infographics and other communication materials.
· Demonstrated experience in presenting research findings, data or other technical information in clear and accessible visual formats.
· Strong skills in information design, data visualisation and visual storytelling.
· Proficiency in relevant design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) or equivalent professional design tools.
· Ability to interpret and simplify complex information without compromising the accuracy or meaning of the content.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work closely with researchers and incorporate feedback.
· Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to deliver quality work within agreed timelines.
· A portfolio demonstrating relevant previous work, particularly examples of reports, infographics, data visualisations or other research/technical communication products.
