Finance Manager (Reinsurance – Zambia)

Are you a commercially astute finance professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for financial performance? ZB Financial Holdings (ZBFH) is inviting applications for the position of Finance Manager for a reinsurance company to be incorporated in Zambia. The successful candidate will provide strategic financial leadership, oversee financial reporting and controls, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive profitability, cost optimization and sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, half-year and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and applicable reporting requirements.
• Drive financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance monitoring, providing actionable insights to management and the Board.
• Oversee financial accounting, reconciliations, cash flow management, tax compliance and statutory reporting.
• Monitor costs, analyse profitability and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, financial performance and the cost-to-income ratio.
• Evaluate investment proposals, product profitability and new business opportunities to support informed decision-making.
• Strengthen internal controls, manage financial risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely completion and resolution of audit findings.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, fostering accountability and high performance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field.
• A professional qualification from ACCA, CIMA, ZICA, ICAZ or an equivalent professional body is required.
• At least 5 years’ relevant experience in a finance role, including 2 years at senior management level.
• Demonstrable experience in financial planning, liquidity management, budgeting, financial reporting and internal controls.
• Experience in insurance or reinsurance is an added advantage.

Competencies Required

• Strong financial, analytical and commercial acumen.
• Solid knowledge of accounting and financial principles, including structuring short- and long-term debt and equity and managing corporate liquidity.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Proficiency in financial systems, Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
• Strong problem-solving, planning and organizational skills.
• High attention to detail, integrity and the ability to deliver under pressure.
