Position: Building & Farm Maintenance Supervisor | Location: Luanshya

Goldenlay Agri Limited, the largest producer, supplier, and distributor of fresh table eggs in Zambia, is looking for a qualified, highly experienced, and dedicated Building & Farm Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and lead our building and farm infrastructure maintenance operations at our facilities in Luanshya.

Role Overview:

The Building & Farm Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning, directing, and executing comprehensive maintenance, structural repairs, civil upkeep, and infrastructure developments across farm buildings, poultry housing, staff accommodation, offices, and farm utilities to ensure operational efficiency, structural safety, and high biosecurity standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance and repair operations on all farm buildings, sheds, poultry houses, warehouses, and office facilities.
• Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance programmes for structural works, masonry, carpentry, roofing, painting, and plumbing.
• Oversee farm water reticulation systems, boreholes, piping, drainage, sewage, and effluent management infrastructure.
• Manage a team of maintenance artisans, plumbers, carpenters, bricklayers, and general workers, ensuring high workmanship and productivity.
• Inspect buildings and facilities regularly to detect wear, structural damage, or maintenance hazards, and implement prompt remedies.
• Maintain strict adherence to environmental, health and safety (EHS) protocols and farm biosecurity standards during all maintenance tasks.
• Prepare bills of quantities (BOQ), material requisitions, and monitor maintenance supplies and inventory to prevent project delays.
• Manage and supervise external contractors engaged in civil and building works, ensuring adherence to specifications, timelines, and budgets.
• Compile and submit detailed weekly and monthly maintenance reports to management.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Science, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in building maintenance, civil construction, or facilities management, preferably in an agricultural, commercial farming, or industrial environment.
• Proven supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a multidisciplinary maintenance workforce.
• Strong practical knowledge of building structures, plumbing reticulation, roofing, carpentry, and masonry.
• Sound understanding of health, safety, environmental, and biosecurity regulations on commercial farms.
• Excellent problem-solving, project coordination, and time-management capabilities.
• Valid driver’s license is an added advantage.
