The National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the vacant position of Investment Analyst – Portfolio (NPS 04).
Job Purpose:
The Investment Analyst – Portfolio is responsible for interpreting financial and investment data, formulating analytical reports, and making evidence-based recommendations on investment holdings and market trends. The position applies quantitative and qualitative techniques to evaluate asset classes, assess portfolio performance and risk, and support the identification, development, and execution of strategic investment initiatives that optimize returns for pension scheme assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive market research, financial evaluations, and macroeconomic trend analysis to determine their impact on NAPSA’s investment portfolio.
- Perform financial modeling, valuation models, projections, and due diligence on prospective corporate, debt, equity, and alternative investment assets.
- Monitor portfolio asset allocation and investment performance against strategic benchmarks, policy guidelines, and risk limits.
- Assist in identifying new, high-yielding investment opportunities to enhance overall portfolio return on investment.
- Prepare detailed investment memoranda, quarterly performance reports, and executive briefs for management and the Board’s Investment Committee.
- Ensure all portfolio transactions comply with regulatory statutory requirements and the National Pension Scheme Act.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade 12 Certificate with Five (5) “O” Levels, including credit or better in Mathematics and English.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Banking, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CFA, or CA Zambia are highly advantageous.
- Minimum of Four (4) years of relevant experience in investment analysis, financial modeling, or portfolio management within a reputable financial institution or fund.
