Job description

We are looking for a proactive and target-driven Sales Associate to drive mobile money adoption and Point-of-Sale (POS) sales in the field.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and signing up new merchants, selling and deploying POS devices, supporting merchant onboarding, and building strong relationships with retailers and merchants within an assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive adoption of mobile money products among retailers and merchants.
  • Prospect and sign up new merchants for POS and mobile money services.
  • Meet daily and weekly sales and activity targets.
  • Sell and deploy POS devices and ensure merchants are properly onboarded.
  • Support merchants during onboarding and early product usage.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants and retailers.
  • Identify new sales opportunities and follow up on leads through to closure.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms directly with merchants where required.
  • Manage and grow an assigned sales territory.

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in field sales, mobile money, or POS sales.
  • Experience in mobile money, POS sales, or field sales within Zambia.
  • Comfortable working in the field daily and engaging directly with merchants and retailers.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Proactive, target-driven and highly organized.
  • Good knowledge of Google Sheets, Google Slides and Google Docs, or similar tools.
  • Ability to draft professional emails and coordinate meetings.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should be energetic, results-oriented and comfortable working independently in the field. They should have a strong ability to build trust with merchants, identify sales opportunities and consistently convert leads into business.
