DISPATCHER SPECIALIST (OFFICER)

Job description

Job Summary

Coordinates daily vehicle dispatching, real-time fleet tracking, and multi-channel communications to ensure efficient, safe, and on-time local and long-distance transport operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Scheduling & Dispatch: Allocate loads, assign appropriate vehicles and crews, and dispatch drivers based on priority, cargo size, and route efficiency.
• Communication & Support: Manage incoming call, email, and radio communications from drivers, clients, and internal teams; serve as the primary liaison with 3PL providers and hauliers.
• Tracking & Route Optimization: Monitor live fleet locations via GPS/TMS software, track weather/traffic conditions, and adjust routes dynamically to meet delivery schedules.
• Crisis Management & Issue Resolution: Act as the main point of contact for field emergencies, transit delays, cargo damage, and customer complaints.
• Documentation & Logs: Reconcile waybills, consignment notes, and Proof of Deliveries (PODs); maintain detailed logs of calls, incidents, vehicle maintenance, and driver activity.
• Reporting & Analytics: Compile daily operational metrics, track KPIs, and report performance trends to management.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 1–3 years in logistics dispatching, route planning, fleet tracking, or transport operations.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), GPS tracking software, and knowledge of key road networks and transit corridors.
• Key Skills: Strong verbal/written communication, multi-tasking under pressure, quick problem-solving, and strict attention to detail.
