Maintenance Supervisor

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and motivate maintenance staff; assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to college policies
• Schedule and carry out routine inspections, repairs, and emergency fixes for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural systems.
•  Ensure academic blocks and outdoor areas are well-maintained, safe and functional.
• Supervise external contractors, inspect their work, and enforce compliance with safety and quality standards.
•  Conduct risk assessments, enforce safety working practices, and oversee compliance checks (Fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, etc.)
•  Monitor electricity and water usage; recommend improvements for efficiency and sustainability.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, prepare reports, and update ticketing systems for transparency.
• Oversee janitorial and gardening staff to maintain cleanliness, order, and beautification of college grounds.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience.

•  Full Grade 12 Certificate.
•  Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field
•  Must have a valid Driver’s License
•  Minimum of three (3) years of work experience.
•  Must be registered with the Engineering Institution of Zambia(EIZ)
