Job description

Mulonga Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited provides water and sanitation services in Chingola, Mufulira and Chililabombwe and is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Reporting to the Implementation Engineer – Civil, supervise in-house and contracted construction programmes covering water networks, water-treatment works and sewer networks.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Ensure contractors maintain approved programmes of work and critical working drawings while monitoring project cost, quality and time.
• Verify adequate deployment of contractor staff, plant and equipment and report matters requiring action.
• Inspect contractor and consultant compliance with contract provisions.
• Submit monthly progress updates with labour, plant and equipment returns.
• Prepare detailed measurement sheets for completed quantities for payment.
• Oversee quality control, health and safety matters on site.
• Ensure materials and workmanship meet specifications.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• Grade 12 Certificate.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.
• Minimum three years’ post-qualification experience in a similar role.
• Member of EIZ.
• Experience in water and sanitation infrastructure planning, design and implementation.
• Experience in project supervision and contract management.
• Knowledge of engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of GIS and engineering software.
• Ability to drive a manual motor vehicle.
