JOB OPPORTUNITY: GRADUATE HSE CONSULTANT

We provide practical and technically sound advisory services across multiple sectors, including mining, infrastructure, energy, and agriculture. We are currently looking for a dedicated and professional individual to join our operations team in Solwezi as a Graduate HSE Consultant.

Key Responsibilities

● Conduct regular workplace risk assessments and hazard identification exercises across various project sites.
● Ensure full compliance with ZEMA regulations, the Zambian Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) Act, and other relevant statutory requirements.
● Lead internal safety audits, site inspections, and formal incident investigations to ensure continuous improvement.
● Facilitate safety training, new employee inductions, and daily toolbox talks for staff and contractors.
● Maintain comprehensive health and safety documentation, legal registers, and performance reporting systems.
● Assist in developing SOPs, safe work procedures, emergency response procedures, environmental procedures and other management-system documentation.
● Collect, analyse and maintain environmental, safety and ESG performance data and contribute to client reports and dashboards.
● Assist with preparation of technical reports, audit reports, environmental monitoring reports, risk assessment reports and client presentations.
● Support Aarvik’s ESG and sustainability assignments, including collection and verification of environmental and social performance information.
● Assist with GHG/carbon data collection and emissions inventories where required on client assignments.
● Perform other environmental, ESG, occupational health and safety duties reasonably assigned in line with Aarvik Environmental Limited’s scope of services.

Qualifications & Requirements

● Must possess a Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Health, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
● Proven work experience as a Safety Officer or in an environmental health role, preferably within the mining or industrial sector.
● Strong familiarity with ISO 45001 (OH&S) and ISO 14001 (EMS) management standards.
● Excellent knowledge of Zambian environmental and safety legislation and international best practices.
