Job description

Safety & Quality Officer

Department: Engineering

Location: Project Site

We are seeking a Safety & Quality Officer to support construction project activities, with equal responsibility for Safety Management (50%) and Quality Management (50%).

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify hazards and unsafe conditions.
  • Monitor PPE compliance and safe working practices.
  • Monitor high-risk activities such as working at height, hot work, lifting and electrical works.
  • Conduct and support Toolbox Talks, safety briefings and training.
  • Report and support investigations of incidents and near misses.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and standards.
  • Monitor construction workmanship, materials and work processes.
  • Identify, document and follow up safety and quality issues until corrective actions are closed.
  • Maintain accurate safety and quality records, reports and checklists.
  • Support inspections, testing and project handover activities.
  • Promote a strong safety and quality culture across the project site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Safety Engineering or a related field.
  • 1–3 years’ experience in construction or project site management.
  • Knowledge of construction safety requirements and quality control procedures.
  • Ability to identify site hazards and construction quality issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving and follow-up skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of responsibility.
  • Willingness to work on a construction/project site.
