Job description
Applications are invited from qualified, experienced, and skilled candidates to fill the position of Business Development Officer.
The objective of Products Business Unit is driving growth of the bank’s product portfolio by identifying market opportunities, acquiring new business, supporting product innovation, and strengthening customer value propositions. It ensures successful product performance through sales initiatives, customer engagement, market research, and collaboration with internal teams to meet strategic business objectives.
Work collaboratively with others across Corporate Banking, while developing strong client relationships which are independent and be seen as a respected voice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute business development strategies to increase uptake of the bank’s products (retail, SME, corporate, digital, etc.).
- Identify, acquire, and onboard new customers across targeted market segments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and prospects.
- Drive revenue growth through proactive selling and cross‑selling of bank products.
- Achieve assigned sales targets, KPIs, and portfolio growth objectives
- Conduct ongoing market research to identify customer needs, trends, competitor activities, and product performance gaps.
- Provide insights to the Products Team to support product innovation, design, and enhancements.
- Participate in product testing, pilot programs, and feedback sessions.
- Track and report on market dynamics and propose actionable recommendations
- Ensure high-quality customer onboarding and product experience.
- Respond to customer inquiries, resolve issues, and escalate complex cases where necessary.
- Conduct customer engagement activities (clinics, activations, education sessions).
- Work closely with branches and support units to deliver seamless product service.

- Identify and develop strategic partnerships (merchants, agents, fintechs, corporates) to enhance product reach.
- Support digital channel growth such as mobile banking, agency banking, and online platforms.
- Collaborate with marketing to execute promotional campaigns and product awareness initiatives.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports and performance dashboards.
- Ensure all customer acquisition and sales activities comply with regulatory and internal risk guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records in dashboards and other required banking systems
- Sales target achievement (product uptake, revenue, customer acquisition).
- Growth in product portfolio quality and active usage.
- Customer satisfaction and onboarding experience metrics.
- Market intelligence reports and actionable insights provided
- Number and quality of partnerships secured.
- Compliance and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Technical Skills & Competence:
- Strong understanding of banking products and financial services.
- Market research and data analysis skills.
- Sales planning and pipeline management.
- Knowledge of digital banking ecosystems.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Banking, Finance, or related field.
- 1-3 years’ experience in similar environment.
