Job description

Lloyds Metals is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Officer – Safety, OHS to join its growing mining operations.

Location: Arawa, Autonomous Region of Bougainville (ARoB), Papua New Guinea
Opportunity Type: FIFO Mining Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
– Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all areas of the operation.
– Conduct site inspections, risk assessments and hazard identification, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
– Monitor compliance with OHS legislation, company policies, procedures and mining industry standards.
– Deliver inductions, toolbox meetings and safety training to employees and contractors.
– Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions, ensuring timely reporting and follow-up.
– Prepare and maintain safety records, statistics and reports.
– Work collaboratively with departments and contractors to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

Minimum Requirements
– OHS Safety Level 1-3 or equivalent qualification.
– Minimum 3 years’ experience in a safety, OHS or HSE role in the mining or heavy industry environment.
– Strong knowledge of PNG OHS Act and Regulations, Mining Safety Act and industry best practice.
– Experience in risk management, incident investigation and safety reporting.
– Excellent communication, interpersonal and training facilitation skills.
– Valid PNG Class 3 Driver’s Licence.
– Current First Aid Certificate.
