ARCHIE HINCHCLIFFE DISABILITY INTERVENTION (AHDI)

JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Project Officer
Location: Lusaka
Reporting to: AHDI Executive Director
Project: Building Effective Networks (BEN)
Contract Duration: One year renewable
Purpose of the Role
The Project Officer will support the implementation of the BEN project by coordinating field activities, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring that project objectives are met. She/he will work closely with local authorities, and partner organizations to facilitate community-based rehabilitation interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Implementation & Coordination
- Plan and oversee day-to-day field activities in the assigned project location.
- Ensure timely execution of project activities as per the work plan.
- Support the Project Coordinator in liaising with partners, government agencies, and community structures.
- Assist in training and capacity-building sessions for various stakeholders.
2.Monitoring & Evaluation
- Collect and document data on project activities, beneficiaries, and outcomes.
- Conduct regular field visits to assess project progress and report findings.
- Ensure compliance with M&E frameworks and provide feedback for project improvement.
3.Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy
- Facilitate meetings with government officials, civic leaders, and community groups.
- Strengthen networks with partner organizations and disability rights groups.
- Promote disability inclusion within local development programs and policies.
4.Financial & Administrative Support
- Work with finance teams to track project expenditures and ensure financial accountability.
- Support procurement and logistics planning for project activities.
- Prepare and submit periodic project reports
5.Work on other delegated work by the supervisors.
Key Specification
Essential Qualifications:
- Diploma in Physiotherapy, Special Education, Social Work or Development studies. A bachelor’s degree will be an added advantage.
- Specialization in handling children with cerebral palsy
Other essential requirements:
- Experience in working in the community and with volunteers
- Experience in working with multiple stakeholders
- At least 3 years’ experience working in the field of disability, rehabilitation, development, or social work.
- Experience of developing and managing effective relationships with government Ministries/Department and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work with rural and vulnerable communities.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills (English).
- Ability to communicate in at least 2 local languages
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Experience in managing institutional donor funds.
- Ability to work independently and ready to work outside normal hours.
- Good understanding of budgets and financial management.
- Excellent computer knowledge and skills.
