SGC is hiring a Depot Manager to be based in Ndola, Zambia.

Location: Ndola, Zambia

Key Responsibilities

Wet Stock Control and Reconciliation
– Oversee daily tank farm operations, receiving, offloading, storage, and fuel dispensing.
– Execute daily shift closing logs and inventory reconciliations using the Jibu System, investigating any stock variances.
– Enforce National Fuel Marking Program protocols and product quality standards (ZABS).

Logistics and Bulk Fleet Management
– Manage secondary fuel distribution logistics to ensure On-Time, In-Full (OTIF) delivery to retail and B2B clients.
– Supervise owned and third-party transporters, optimizing truck turnaround times (TAT) and fleet route plans.
– Manage route logistics under the Uniform Petroleum Pricing (UPP) mechanism and coordinate UPP fund claims.
– Ensure all Road Tank Vehicles (RTVs) comply with flammable liquids transport codes (ZS 371 / ZS 372).

HSSEQ and Regulatory Compliance
– Drive an uncompromising Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality (HSSEQ) culture.
– Ensure 100% compliance with regulatory authorities including ERB, ZEMA, RTSA, ZABS, ZCSA, and ZMA.
– Lead site emergency response planning, fire safety drills, hazard identification, and incident investigations.

Team Leadership and Financial Management
– Lead, mentor, and performance-manage the depot operational team, including technicians, operators, and logistics staff.
– Manage depot operational budgets (OPEX/CAPEX) to drive cost efficiencies and negotiate vendor contracts.

Required Qualifications and Experience
– Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Technologist Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
– Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in a managerial role overseeing fuel depot/terminal operations and bulk petroleum logistics.
– Regulatory Expertise: Deep understanding of the Zambian downstream petroleum regulatory framework, including ERB, ZEMA, RTSA, ZABS, and UPP mechanism.
– Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with ERP software and depot stock accounting systems. Jibu System experience is a strong advantage.
– Skills: Robust stock-auditing capacity, vendor management, crisis management, and strong stakeholder relations skills.
