Job description

Digital Marketer

Location: Lusaka, Zambia

We are a growing engineering company and we are building an in-house digital-savvy marketing team, and we’re looking for professionals who understand how their work contributes to growth.

We’re not looking for button-clickers. We’re looking for full-time marketers who can think, build, and execute.

What We’re Building

1. A digital growth engine.

We need someone who can build the systems that turn attention into leads and leads into revenue — not just posting content. If you think in terms of funnels, cost per customer acquired, and marrying digital marketing with business goals, this is speaking to you.

2. A bridge from our offline presence to online visibility.

Our business has many stories worth telling — successful projects, customer relationships, industry events, partnerships, technical expertise. Very little of that exists online. We need someone who can spot those stories and turn them into attention, credibility, and trust.

3. A brand that looks as good online as it really is.

We want someone who can make the business look and feel as good online as it actually is — photography, design, video, the eye for what’s inconsistent or off-brand before anyone else notices.

This is not a traditional marketing job.

We expect people on this team to take ownership, solve business problems, and help build systems that will shape the future of our marketing function.

If you’re looking for a role where every task is assigned to you, this probably isn’t the right fit. If you’re excited by building, improving, and creating, we’d love to hear from you.

Choose Your Strength

Digital Marketing is a wide field, we don’t expect you to know everything, we would like to know which of the 3 areas below is your strength.

1.Growth Strategy

Your job is not to run one channel well — it’s to decide where the whole marketing focus and budget goes, and why.

You should be able to:

  • Translate business objectives into a marketing budget and attention split across channels — PR, events, partnerships, content, and digital ads — not just a single-channel plan.
  • Work with leadership to decide what to fund, what to cut, and what to test next.
  • Coordinate marketing initiatives across internal teams and external specialists — handing a PR push to the right person, handing a qualified lead to sales, and knowing where your job ends.
  • Support the sales team with initiatives that improve lead generation and conversion — your job is to generate and hand off, not to close.
  • Monitor performance and continuously reallocate the budget toward what’s actually working.

We’re looking for someone who thinks like a resource allocator, not a campaign runner.

Don’t just tell us. Show us: Share marketing strategies, campaign plans, business cases, or case studies demonstrating how you connected business objectives to measurable results.

If you don’t have a case study to share, answer this instead: given a K20,000 monthly marketing budget for this business, how would you split it across channels — PR, content, paid ads, events, partnerships, etc. — and why? Tell us what you’d cut first if the budget was halved.

2. Content Creation

You will bring our brand to life through compelling visual and written storytelling.

You will:

  • Produce high-quality graphics, photography, videos, reels, and written content.
  • Document projects, people, and customer success stories through writing, visuals, and video.
  • Create content for social media, the website, presentations, and marketing campaigns.
  • Maintain a consistent and professional brand identity across all platforms.
  • Work closely with the Growth Strategy and PR & Brand Communications people to support campaigns and business objectives.

We’re looking for someone who combines creativity with excellent execution and attention to detail.

Show us: A portfolio showcasing graphics, videos, photography, copywriting, campaigns, or other creative work. This one lives or dies on the portfolio.

3. PR & Brand Communications

Your mission is to increase our brand’s visibility, credibility, and industry presence with customers and the general public.

You will:

  • Develop and execute PR initiatives that strengthen our brand.
  • Come up with PR and event campaign ideas.
  • Coordinate events, exhibitions, launches, and community engagement activities.
  • Build relationships with media, partners, industry associations, and other stakeholders.
  • Identify speaking opportunities, interviews, awards, and partnership opportunities.
  • Support executive communications and corporate storytelling.
  • Work with the wider marketing team to ensure consistent messaging across all public touchpoints.

We’re looking for someone who knows how to create meaningful visibility and build lasting relationships that strengthen a brand.

Show us: Examples of events, partnerships, media coverage, campaigns, community initiatives, or brand-building activities you’ve led or contributed to. Answer: mention 3 types of PR events you would create for an Engineering firm.
