About the role:
We are looking for a Scholarship & Communications Coordinator to support CBM’s Inclusive Health Initiative (IHI). In this role, you will lead communications activities across IHI programmes and partnerships while coordinating the end-to-end management of scholarship programmes. You will work closely with universities, training institutions, government stakeholders, partners, and CBM teams to strengthen collaboration, communicate programme impact, and ensure the effective delivery of scholarship activities.
This position will be filled locally in one of CBM’s permanent established entities (Nairobi (Kenya), Abuja (Nigeria), Lomé (Togo), Yaoundé (Cameroon), Lusaka (Zambia), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Kampala (Uganda), Niamey (Niger), etc.).This position is only filled locally. With contractual conditions of the respective country. An expatriation is not intended.

You Will:

  • Lead the development and execution of the Inclusive Health Initiative’s communications strategy across programmes and partnerships.
  • Support teams in communicating programme milestones, impact stories, and key updates internally and externally.
  • Produce programme communications outputs, including case studies, social media content, website content, and internal publications.
  • Support internal teams in developing strategic thought leadership pieces and external publications.
    Coordinate the full scholarship cycle, including application management, selection logistics, onboarding, documentation, and communication with trainees and training institutions.
  • Serve as the central administrative and communication link between CBM teams, universities, partners, and government stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records, including scholarship databases, contracts, academic progress tracking, and financial documentation.

These are your qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, International Development, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in communications, preferably within international development, innovation, health, or entrepreneurship ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing communications outputs.
  • Strong editorial and writing skills, with experience producing high-quality external publications.
  • Experience managing communications for multi-stakeholder partnerships or programmes; experience with scholarship or education programmes is an added advantage.
  • Experience using digital communications platforms, social media, and content production tools.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively in multicultural environments.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • A demonstrated commitment to disability inclusion and safeguarding principles.
  • Identification with the Christian values and mandate of CBM.
