Gardener

Job description

As Gardener for one of our homes, you will be responsible for the daily care, maintenance, and aesthetic appeal of our outdoor and indoor plant environments. Your main duties will include:

• Landscape Maintenance: Mowing, edging, weeding, pruning, and trimming lawns, hedges, trees, and shrubs to maintain a clean, professional aesthetic.
• Plant Care & Cultivation: Planting, transplanting, and nurturing seasonal flowers, trees, and indoor office plants.
• Irrigation Management: Monitoring, operating, and basic troubleshooting of automated watering systems to ensure optimal water usage.
• Seasonal Prep & Cleanup: Managing leaf removal, seasonal planting rotations, and ensuring walkways are clear of green debris or hazards.
• Pest & Weed Control: Identifying plant diseases or pests and applying appropriate, environmentally conscious treatments.
• Equipment Care: Operating and safely maintaining gardening tools and machinery (mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, etc.).
• Composting & Waste Management: Managing and maintaining a backyard composting system, converting household and garden waste into nutrient-rich soil.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in professional gardening, commercial landscaping, or groundskeeping.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of plant care, soil health, pruning techniques, and seasonal planting.
• Skills: Ability to operate commercial landscaping machinery safely and efficiently.
• Physical Fitness: Capability to perform strenuous physical labor in various weather conditions.
• Attributes: High attention to detail, reliability, and a polite, professional demeanor suitable for a professional environment.
• Asset: A formal qualification in Horticulture, Agriculture, or a related field is a plus but not mandatory.
