VACANCY: ACCOUNTANT – FUEL LOGISTICS & TRANSPORT

Location: Lusaka, Zambia

Sahan Logistics Limited is seeking to recruit an experienced Accountant with proven experience in the fuel transportation and logistics industry.

IMPORTANT:

This position is strictly for candidates who have worked in fuel transport, petroleum logistics, fuel distribution, or tanker fleet operations. Applicants without relevant industry experience will not be considered.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ accounting experience in a fuel transport or petroleum logistics company.
• Strong understanding of:
• Fuel transportation accounting
• Fleet costing and trip profitability
• Transport reconciliations
• Fuel stock and delivery reconciliations
• Customer invoicing and supplier payments
• ERB transport rates and fuel logistics operations
• Multi-currency accounting (ZMW & USD)
• Bank reconciliations
• VAT and tax compliance
• Payroll and statutory returns
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict reporting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting and financial records.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Monitor fleet income, expenses, and profitability.
• Perform trip-by-trip financial reconciliations.
• Reconcile customer invoices and supplier accounts.
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Prepare budgets, cash flow reports, and financial forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with all tax and statutory obligations.
• Support management with financial analysis and decision-making.
