Job description
The Sales Assistant will be responsible for establishing and growing COMACO’s presence in the Kasumbalesa market, with a focus on:
- Building a strong customer base
- Driving consistent sales growth
- Ensuring product availability and visibility
- Supporting the development of cross-border trade opportunities
The role is field-based and requires daily engagement with traders, wholesalers, and retailers in Kasumbalesa.
Key Responsibilities
Market Development
- Identify and onboard new customers (retailers, traders, wholesalers)
- Build relationships with key market players
- Support introduction and understanding of products in the market
Sales & Order Generation
- Generate daily and weekly orders
- Maintain a pipeline of active customers
- Follow up on all leads and opportunities
- Achieve agreed monthly sales targets
Merchandising & Visibility
- Ensure products are visible and well presented in outlets
- Monitor stock levels at customer level
- Provide feedback on product performance
Stock & Distribution Coordination
- Manage small working stock held in Kasumbalesa (if applicable)
- Coordinate all larger orders with Ndola dispatch team
- Ensure timely delivery to customers
- Avoid overstocking and stock losses
Market Intelligence
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and product movement
- Provide weekly feedback on:
- Customer trends
- Product demand
- Market challenges
