Job description

Job Summary

The Warehouse Officer is responsible for ensuring efficient warehouse operations through proper receipt, storage, inventory control, and dispatch of materials and finished goods. The role requires maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring compliance with company procedures, and supporting uninterrupted production and customer deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials and finished products.

Ensure proper storage of inventory in accordance with company standards and safety requirements.

Maintain accurate inventory records using the warehouse management system (ERP/SAP where applicable).

Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and participate in periodic stock audits.

Monitor stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies promptly.

Prepare and process delivery notes, goods receipt notes, and other warehouse documentation.

Coordinate the timely loading and dispatch of goods.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the warehouse.

Supervise proper housekeeping to maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse.

Coordinate with Procurement, Production, Quality, and Logistics departments to ensure smooth operations.

Investigate inventory variances and recommend corrective actions.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Purchasing & Supply, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in warehouse operations within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Experience using ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) is an added advantage.

Good understanding of inventory management principles.

Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and procedures.

Required Skills

Strong organizational and planning skills.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

High level of integrity and accountability.
