Job description:

Overall Job Purpose

  • The role is responsible for the overall management and supervision of company-provided accommodation and FQM facilities, ensuring efficient operations, high-quality living standards, and compliance with health and safety regulations. This also includes implementing and enforcing preventive maintenance strategies and programs on FQM Assets.
  • The position also drives the implementation of robust risk management practices, such as training, inspections, and incident management.
  • Additionally, the role involves asset management strategy implementation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing regular reporting.

Specific Job Responsibility

Operations: Direct daily housing and infrastructure services.

· Maintenance: Lead preventive maintenance and structural renovations.

· Planning: Schedule weekly and long-term facility workflows.

· Systems: Optimize work order tracking and documentation.

· Leadership: Supervise, train, and manage maintenance personnel.

· Inspections: Conduct regular property and risk audits.

· Quality: Ensure technical and safety specification compliance.

· Safety: Guide and abide by safety systems and protocols around accommodation infrastructure.

· Compliance: Meet local, national, and industry regulations.

· Risk: Run hazard assessments and execute mitigation plans.

· Culture: Deliver safety training to staff and sensitization to the residents.

· Analysis: Investigate safety incidents and operational failures

Experience required to perform in this job

  • Minimum 10-15 years’ experience in accommodation, facilities, or property management
  • Experience in infrastructure construction or maintenance of housing projects is an advantage
  • Professional certifications in Project Management are desirable
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications for facilities management and reporting.
  • Strong background in construction management, with the ability to oversee various projects from planning to completion.
  • Demonstrated expertise in risk assessment, incident investigation, and emergency response planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering or related field.
  • Full grade 12 school certificate with a minimum of 5 passes
  • All results need to be certified by ZAQA
