HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER – NATIONAL MILLING CORPORATION LIMITED

About NMC
A reputable multinational company specialized in manufacturing flour, mealie meal, stockfeeds, and trading in rice and other products.

Role Purpose
Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems at the assigned branch office. Ensure effective, efficient and legally compliant HR service delivery at location level.

Key Responsibilities
– Provide professional HR advice and support to managers and staff on HR matters.
– Manage HR database: probations, disciplinary letters, acting appointments, fixed-term contracts and timely renewals.
– Manage time, attendance and sickness records. Submit weekly statistical reports to the supervisor.
– Work with the Chief HR Officer to maintain up-to-date payroll information for the location.
– Advise on the employee life cycle, including absence, investigations, discipline, grievance and capability in line with policies and employment law.
– Assist supervisors in managing poor performance.
– Administer benefits including separation dues, relocation allowances and funeral grants.
– Manage the Workers Compensation account and ensure timely reporting of injuries.
– Supervise casual staff account, including database maintenance, NAPSA registration and timely wage payments.
– Manage canteen operations to ensure staff meals are provided.
– Manage staff accrued leave levels.
– Conduct exit interviews, inductions, debriefings and facilitate clearance for terminated employees.
– Interpret and maintain HR policies and the employee handbook, ensuring legal compliance.
– Handle staff grievances and disciplinary processes.

Qualifications and Requirements
– Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
– Degree in Human Resource Management or Social Sciences.
– 3 years’ working experience in a similar role.
– Strong proficiency in MS365: Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Teams.
– Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource.
– Proactive and self-motivated, with strong attention to detail, multitasking and prioritization skills.
