Job description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Machinist to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining manual machining equipment to produce high-quality precision components in accordance with engineering specifications and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate manual lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other workshop equipment.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation accurately.
• Manufacture, assemble, and finish metal components to precise tolerances.
• Conduct quality checks using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Perform routine maintenance and ensure machines are kept in optimal working condition.
• Work with a variety of materials including steel, aluminium, and brass.
• Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Candidate Requirements

• Certificate/Diploma in Machining or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in industrial machining work.
• Valid membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
• Proven experience in a machining role, with strong knowledge of manual machining processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
