Senior Accountant

Job Purpose

To ensure the efficient receipt, storage, control, safeguarding, and issuance of inventory while maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting the Finance Department through effective warehouse management and stock control.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

· Receive all incoming goods and verify quantities and specifications against purchase orders and delivery notes.

· Inspect goods for damage or shortages and report discrepancies immediately.

· Prepare and process Goods Received Notes (GRNs).

· Store inventory in designated locations using proper labelling and bin locations.

· Maintain a clean, organised, and secure warehouse.

Inventory Control

· Issue stock only against approved Stock Requisition Forms or Job Cards.

· Record all inventory movements in the ERP/accounting system.

· Maintain accurate bin cards and stock registers.

· Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and notify Procurement of reorder requirements.

· Identify obsolete, damaged, and slow-moving inventory.

Stock Verification

· Perform daily spot checks on fast-moving items.

· Conduct monthly cycle counts.

· Participate in quarterly and annual stock takes.

· Investigate inventory variances and prepare reports.

Documentation

· Maintain accurate warehouse records.

· File GRNs, Stock Issue Vouchers, Transfer Notes, and supporting documents.

· Prepare weekly inventory movement reports.

Compliance

· Ensure compliance with warehouse procedures.

· Safeguard company inventory against loss, theft, or damage.

· Maintain health and safety standards within the warehouse.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

· Inventory accuracy ≥ 99%

· Stock variances <1%

· GRNs processed within 24 hours

· Stock issues processed on the same day

· Monthly cycle counts completed on schedule

· Zero unauthorized stock movements

· Warehouse housekeeping score ≥95%

· No material audit findings relating to inventory

Qualifications

· Diploma in Purchasing & Supply, Logistics, Accounting or related field.

· Minimum 2 years’ warehouse experience.

· Knowledge of inventory management systems.

· Good Microsoft Excel skills.
