Field Tower Refueling Technician Jobs in Muchinga – Join Onsite Energy Onsite Energy is currently hiring Field Tower Refueling Technicians to support telecom infrastructure across Muchinga and Northern Provinces in Zambia. About the Field Tower Refueling Technician Role We have six vacancies available: three positions located in Muchinga Province and three in Northern Province. The primary responsibility of the Field Tower Refueling Technician is to ensure uninterrupted telecom tower operation by managing diesel generator fuel levels, performing regular inspections, and promptly reporting any faults or security concerns. This role is essential in achieving zero tower downtime and maintaining high service standards. Key Responsibilities Travel to telecom tower sites to refuel diesel generators safely and efficiently. Take accurate fuel dip and meter readings to monitor consumption and calculate remaining operating days. Verify fuel seals and meter accuracy to prevent discrepancies. Submit daily detailed reports including six mandatory site photos, GPS location, and client signature or stamp. Inspect generator condition and overall site security during visits. Immediately report any incidents of theft, vandalism, or equipment faults. Adhere strictly to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) protocols and client standard operating procedures. Prevent fuel spillages and maintain safe handling practices at all times. Candidate Requirements Minimum Grade 12 certificate required. Trade certificate in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is a strong advantage. At least one year of experience handling diesel, generators, or fuel management. Previous telecom tower experience is preferred but not mandatory. Valid Class B or C Driver’s License with defensive driving skills considered beneficial. Basic math proficiency and ability to operate smartphones, WhatsApp, and GPS devices. Working knowledge of generator operation. Must be honest, reliable, physically fit, and capable of working independently in remote locations. Work Conditions and Performance Expectations Technicians will spend approximately 80% of their time in the field, working standard hours from 08:00 to 17:00 with emergency on-call duties as required. Onsite Energy provides company vehicles and personal protective equipment (PPE) to support safe and effective work. Performance will be evaluated using the following key indicators: Maintaining 100% telecom tower uptime. Achieving 100% compliance in daily reporting. Keeping diesel variance below 2%. Responding to emergencies within 4 hours. Ensuring zero Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) incidents.
