Role Overview: Corporate Engagement Officer (Field Project Officer)
Reporting to the Landscape Manager for Kafue, the Corporate Engagement Officer will advance WWF Zambia’s private sector engagement and sustainable finance agenda. The successful candidate will develop, coordinate, and manage corporate partnerships focused on water stewardship, responsible business practices, nature-based solutions, and climate resilience within the Kafue landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Community Mobilization and Stakeholder Partnership: Mobilize and engage communities to ensure inclusive participation, gender equity, and youth involvement. Strengthen collaboration with traditional leaders, local authorities, NGOs, CSOs, and community-based organizations.
- Field Implementation: Support delivery of water stewardship, freshwater conservation, catchment protection, and climate adaptation activities. Promote climate-smart agriculture and conservation-friendly livelihoods to enhance community resilience.
- Monitoring, Learning, and Adaptive Management: Collect and manage field data, support monitoring and reporting, and identify emerging risks to inform adaptive management strategies.
- Safeguards and Compliance: Ensure adherence to WWF safeguarding policies, environmental and social standards, and donor requirements. Support budget planning and promote ethical, safe field operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Wetlands Management, Social Anthropology, Natural Resources Management, Biology, or related field.
- At least two years’ experience in community-based conservation or development work.
- Proven skills in community engagement and multi-stakeholder coordination.
- Experience working in remote or rural field settings is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Working Relationships
Internally, the role collaborates closely with the Biodiversity Team, Green Finance Unit, Communications Team, Finance & Administration, and WWF Network Offices. Externally, the officer will engage with corporate partners, government ministries, private sector associations, NGOs, academic institutions, communities, and donors.
