Job description
We are seeking an energetic and and proactive Logistics Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be assist in coordinating logistics, procurement support, clearing and forwarding documentation, fleet administration, and regulatory compliance to ensure efficient business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate dispatch schedules, transport arrangements, and delivery tracking within and outside Lusaka.
- Source and manage approved transporters and local suppliers in accordance with company procurement procedures.
- Obtain and negotiate supplier quotations to achieve the best value for the business.
- Monitor shipments, resolve delivery issues, and maintain accurate logistics records.
- Prepare and submit clearing documentation, duty payment records, and vendor invoices.
- Follow up with clearing agents on invoices, duty payments, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor fleet documentation, including insurance, road tax, fitness certificates, and scheduled vehicle servicing.
- Track stock replenishment and supplier performance while maintaining procurement records.
- Support the renewal of company licences, registrations, and operational permits.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies, including ZEMA, ZAMRA, and ZARI.
- Maintain accurate logistics, procurement, and clearing files.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in logistics, procurement, clearing and forwarding, or supply chain operations.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, transport coordination, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong negotiation, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
