Role Overview: Accountant Jobs in Kitwe
We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Chartered Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in preparing financial statements, managing audits, performing tax and payroll duties, and providing insightful financial analysis that supports strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and reconcile financial transactions, including loan disbursements and repayments
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Manage financial systems, budgets, and forecasts to support business growth
- Assess financial risks and recommend preventive measures
- Provide professional advice on financial decisions and investment opportunities
- Coordinate internal audits and liaise with external auditors
- Ensure financial practices comply with statutory legislation and regulations
- Lead budgeting and financial planning processes
- Recommend cost reduction and profit enhancement strategies
- Stay updated on regulatory changes affecting financial compliance
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience as a Chartered Accountant, preferably within lending institutions
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP
- Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end closing processes
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with keen attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software applications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
