The successful candidate will deliver comprehensive classroom and hands-on training focused on the maintenance, repair, and operation of heavy-duty equipment and machinery. This role is essential in developing the technical skills of trainees and apprentices through well-structured lesson plans, practical exercises, and ongoing assessment. You will play a key role in shaping the future workforce by providing expert coaching, mentoring, and technical support.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver theory and practical training on heavy-duty mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Develop detailed lesson plans, training materials, and practical exercises tailored to learner needs.
• Demonstrate safe use of tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop machinery.
• Assess trainee progress through tests, practical assignments, and performance evaluations.
• Maintain accurate records of training activities and assessments.
• Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to trainees.
• Supervise practical workshops and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with industry partners and workplace mentors to enhance practical learning.
• Participate in quality assurance processes, including evaluations and audits.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
• Teaching or instructor certification is advantageous.
• Proven technical expertise in heavy-duty equipment maintenance and repair.
• Several years of practical experience in heavy equipment maintenance or related fields.
• Previous experience in training, mentoring, or instructing is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong communication, presentation, and instructional skills.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical systems.
• Effective coaching and mentoring abilities to support trainee development.
• Organizational skills with meticulous record-keeping capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with digital training tools and online learning platforms is a plus.

Preferred Certifications

• Instructor or trainer certification.
• Occupational health and safety certification.
• Assessor or competency evaluation certification.

Work Environment

This position is primarily based in training workshops, classrooms, and laboratories, with occasional visits to industrial or field sites. The role requires supervision of practical training activities and working safely around heavy machinery.
