Overview of the Branch Manager Role

The Branch Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the Kitwe branch, ensuring efficient underwriting and claims processes, driving profitability, and maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will lead a dynamic team, coordinate business development efforts, and uphold excellent service delivery.

Key Responsibilities for Branch Manager Jobs in Kitwe

  • Lead initiatives to expand the branch portfolio, achieving premium and profitability targets.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and key stakeholders.
  • Supervise underwriting and claims activities in accordance with company guidelines.

  • Oversee timely preparation of quotations, endorsements, and policy documentation.
  • Manage reinsurance processes, including verification of calculations and facultative placements.
  • Prepare comprehensive weekly, monthly, and periodic performance reports for the branch.
  • Address client complaints promptly to uphold high service standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including Premium Payment Directives and reinsurance guidelines.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to branch staff.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Insurance qualification (ACII or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • At least five years of experience in general insurance, underwriting, or branch operations.
  • Demonstrated success in business development and relationship management within the insurance industry.
  • Familiarity with reinsurance practices and processes is beneficial.
  • Experience working with brokers and corporate clients is essential.
