Zambia National Commercial Bank Plc (Zanaco) is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Occupational Health Safety Administrator based in Lusaka, Zambia. This full-time role is integral to the Operations Division under Facilities & Premises Management at the Head Office, focusing on safeguarding employee health, safety, and wellbeing while ensuring compliance with statutory regulations. Role Overview: Occupational Health Safety Administrator Jobs in Lusaka

The Occupational Health Safety Administrator will develop, implement, and update Zanaco’s Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) framework and policies. The role involves conducting risk assessments, facility inspections, and incident investigations to identify root causes of workplace accidents and near misses, and to recommend effective preventive measures. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a safe and healthy work environment that supports productivity and legal compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enforce adherence to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and OHS management policies.
  • Facilitate a safe, healthy, and clean working environment, including office conditions, sanitation, furniture, waste management, and overall premises cleanliness.
  • Manage procurement, maintenance, and distribution of all OHS and ESG-related equipment and supplies.
  • Conduct regular inspections of all Zanaco premises, document findings, and coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Perform ESG and OHS audits across branch networks and track risk mitigation progress.
  • Prepare tender documents related to ESG and OHS procurement in coordination with supervisors.
  • Supervise contractors and ensure compliance with service level agreements and quality standards.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to OHS emergencies and incidents.
  • Deliver OHS and ESG awareness programs, training sessions, and toolbox talks, maintaining accurate records.
  • Ensure timely correspondence with regulatory bodies and maintain compliance with BOZ water and sanitation standards.
  • Identify, assess, and report risks, maintaining the risk register and monitoring key risk indicators within the department.
  • Implement audit recommendations and close control weaknesses identified through risk assessments and customer feedback.
  • Participate in procedure manual reviews and risk management training as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Environmental Health, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of local health and safety regulations.
  • Experience in strategic stakeholder management and complex decision-making processes.
