The Superintendent, Earthworks will oversee the construction, maintenance, and safety of critical mining infrastructure, including haul roads, ramps, and pit perimeter roads. This full-time position plays a vital role in supporting operational efficiency and safety at our Kalumbila site.

Key Responsibilities for Superintendent Earthworks Jobs in Kalumbila

• Supervise construction and maintenance of all in-pit haul roads, ramps, and pit perimeter roads according to design specifications.
• Manage loading and transportation of aggregate products to various operational areas.
• Lead projects such as safety berm construction, desilting, crusher tipping bay clean-ups and rehabilitation, water control, and construction of pads for overhead power line poles.
• Implement dust suppression measures to maintain safe working conditions.
• Enforce company health, safety, and environmental policies rigorously.
• Ensure timely maintenance of haul roads and waste dumps, promoting equipment safety and operational continuity.
• Proactively plan work schedules to minimize disruption to production activities.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in open pit mining operations, with a focus on earthworks.
• Grade 12 Full Certificate with at least five passes.
• Degree in Civil or Mining Engineering.
• Valid membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
• Certification of all qualifications by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
• Road building qualification is an advantage.
