About Umino Community Loan Services Limited Umino Community Loan Services Limited is a private company dedicated to empowering rural communities across Zambia by providing financial services to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Operating currently under a Money Lenders’ license, Umino is in the process of registering as a non-deposit taking Microfinance Institution regulated by the Bank of Zambia. With over 2,000 clients served through six branches across ten districts, including Rufunsa, Luangwa, Nyimba, and others, Umino is poised for significant expansion. Chief Finance Officer Jobs in Lusaka: Role Overview Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will be instrumental in shaping Umino’s financial strategy and ensuring the organization’s long-term financial stability and growth. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage complex financial operations while providing strategic guidance to senior management and the board of directors. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with Umino’s business objectives. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and comprehensive financial reporting. Ensure strict compliance with Bank of Zambia regulations and other financial standards. Manage relationships with investors, banks, and financial institutions. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team. Monitor cash flow and optimize capital structure to maintain liquidity and financial health. Supervise management and maintenance of physical assets in collaboration with operations. Identify and mitigate financial, portfolio, and market risks. Support strategic initiatives including mergers, acquisitions, and business expansions. Provide regular financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and board. Qualifications and Experience Professional qualifications: ACCA, CIMA, or ZICA (ZICA membership at associate or fellow level is mandatory). Master’s degree is a distinct advantage. Minimum of 10 years’ management experience, preferably within microfinance, SME banking, or related sectors. In-depth knowledge of Bank of Zambia regulations, local GAAP, IFRS, and tax laws. Proven experience in preparing and submitting regulatory returns and financial statements to BoZ. Strong analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills combined with a proactive, hands-on approach. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams and to scale business financial processes.
